Positives Come From Weekend Losses to Ulysse

“There has been a lot of progress in just a week,” said Head Coach Shawn Anderson, as the Faucons dropped a home and home to Ulysse Academy this past weekend.

Game 1 took place in St. Roch De L’Achagan, where the Faucons had a 3-1 lead after the first period, but couldn’t hold on losing 4-3.

Back home the next day, the Faucons faced an outstanding netminder, who thwarted every scoring chance Le Sommet had in the hockey game. Despite the barrage of shots on the opposing net, the Faucons lost 3-0, their 5th straight loss.

“We haven’t put any formal lines together”, added Anderson, “giving every player on the roster a chance to showcase their skills.” Even more positive was the shear effort brought forth by the Faucons, who despite the losses, have maintained an outstanding work ethic, which will ultimately lead to better results.

Before the Faucons head out for their first big showcase this coming weekend, the team will work more on team play and line combinations in practice this week, in order to establish chemistry between linemates.

“With a little more structure and team tactics added to our practices, we should get the results we’ve been lacking so far this season,” said a smiling Coach Anderson.
